March 4, 5 & 6 (Friday, Saturday + Sunday), 10 am to 4 pm
This intensive 3-day workshop will introduce the process of hand-painting, printing and stenciling on fabric using natural dyes. The workshop focuses on the use of tannin-rich and substantive dyes that do not require the use of a mordant. The use of mordants as modifiers and other colour modifiers will be explored. Learn the principles of preparing dye extracts from tannin-rich sources for use in printing. Create a range of technical samples while exploring experimental mark-making and pattern on cloth.
